Sancaktepe City Hospital is Turkey's largest healthcare investment project. It is being built on a 1.5 million m² area in the Samandıra Air Base, located in the Sancaktepe district of Istanbul. The project is being carried out under the public-private partnership (PPP) model by the Ministry of Health. The cost of the project is approximately 16 billion Turkish Lira. The project is undertaken by Rönesans Holding. In 2013, it was announced to the public that a hospital would be built on the land of Samandıra Air Base. A protocol was signed, transferring a 3 million m² area from the Ministry of National Defense to the Ministry of Health. After the land allocation, a tender was announced in 2018, but it was postponed. The tender was held in 2019, but it was later canceled.
